Weekly Reads: June 25th

Hi bookworms! Welcome back to another installment of weekly reads. Last week I was going through a bit of a baby reading slump, where I just wasn’t excited about reading. Not to the fault of any of the books I chose, but more so brought on by just being generally exhausted from the stress of work. Now that I’ve learned to simply sing that ultra catchy Frozen song to myself on days of stress, I’m back to loving my reading TBR!

This week I’m planning to read…

img_8127This coming Sunday will be the last read along discussion for 11/22/63, so at the top of my priority list is finishing this beauty! I think every week we’ve talked about how this book is slower than other King’s we’ve read and just all around a different writing style. I’m still a huge fan and loving my read of 11/22/63. I’m hoping for a big finale as a pay off for all of the build up.

Since I just finished THE WIDOW OF WALL STREET last night, I’m starting the week fresh with BEWARE THE PAST. I actually had never heard of this book before, but it was nominated as one of the choices for Instagram’s Criminally Good Book Club and won out to be June’s selection. The premise to this one sounds fantastic and I can’t wait to get started!

This week I’m also planning to read my first horror novella. I’ve been stalking Kealan Patrick Burke’s work all over the internet and finally bought myself SOUR CANDY for my birthday and was gifted KIN around the same time. I’m planning to read KIN later this summer, but I’m determined to slot this tiny book into my reading this week. Also, can we just take a moment to admire that cover?

My final selection for the week was actually a toss up. I wasn’t sure between two upcoming July 3rd releases, THE NIGHT VISITOR and THE BANKER’S WIFE, which I wanted to read. I think that I’ll be picking up THE NIGHT VISITOR first because after reading Abby over at Crime By The Book nonstop rave about this one it seems like a must.

What are you reading this week? Have you read any of these titles?
