Weekly Reads: July 2nd

July already?? How is this possible?

Maryland is under an intense heat wave and I’m just over Summer. I’m not so patiently waiting for Fall, sweaters, and pumpkin spice lattes. Anyone else with me?

This week I’m planning to read…

img_8187Somehow I let my TBR get ahead of me and I’m not sure when I’ll be catching up. Tomorrow, THE NIGHT VISITOR and THE BANKER’S WIFE both hit shelves and I’m only 33% into the first one. Clearly my weekend wasn’t very productive. THE NIGHT VISITOR is an interesting read. Right now I’m still getting to know the two narrators more and figure out their relationship. I’m pretty unsure where this one is headed, but I’m enjoying the ride!

Also keeping me company on my commute this week is SHARP OBJECTS. Unless you live under a rock you’ve probably seen the marketing campaign surrounding the HBO series they’re turning Flynn’s book in to starting July 8th. I read SHARP OBJECTS back in 2014 and remember loving it, but the details are sketchy in my mind. What a better time to listen to an audiobook?! I love the narrator for this one and the story is every bit as engrossing as I remember it being the first time.

Next up will be THE BANKER’S WIFE, which I’m reading with a lovely group of bookworms over on #bookstagram. Several of the ladies have already finished it and are giving rave reviews. I’m excited to get started and chat with all of them on the 6th! Speaking of buddy reads, I’m also reading I’LL BE GONE IN THE DARK over the course of the month of July with another fabulous group of readers! We have three discussion points planned out throughout the month, but I’m a little worried I’m going to start and won’t be able to stop.

I’m so excited for all of the books filling my line up this week!

What are you reading this week? Have you read any of these titles?

  1. I just got approved for The Night Visitor on Netgalley!

Sharp Objects is so good – I can’t wait for the series.

I’m currently reading I’ll Be Gone In The Dark– It’s such a crazy case.

    1. The Night Visitor is really good so far! It’s actually keeping me from starting I’ll Be Gone in the Dark because I don’t want to put it down! I’m so excited for the HBO series and to see Amy Adams as Camille! The audiobook narrator actually weirdly sounds a lot like her.
