Welcome to another installment of Top Ten Tuesday (hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl). This week’s theme is all about upcoming releases that we need a little help deciding if they’re worth a coveted slot on the TBR. Now, if you’re anything like me, your TBR is probably overflowing. If you also suffer from FOMO like myself, you probably are worried you need to stay on top of what’s up and coming, while inevitably battling a backlog of older books as well.
Below are some of the upcoming releases I’m considering adding to my TBR, but need a little nudge before committing.
1. WATCHER IN THE WOODS by Kelley Armstrong: I read a short story by Armstrong in HARK! THE HERALD ANGELS SCREAM and have been looking for a way to try out more of her work since then. This is actually the fourth book in a series, so I realize it wouldn’t be the best place to start, but I am curious if it’s a series worth giving a go. {Release date: 02.05.2019.}
2. SAY YOU’RE SORRY by Karen Rose: I’ve seen this one all over #bookstagram lately. I’ve never read anything by Rose and the fact that this book is 600+ pages makes me very hesitant to pick it up as my first introduction to the author. {Release date: 02.12.2019}
3. BLOOD ECHO by Christopher Rice: This one is another case of new-to-me author and part of a series. I heard really great reviews for BONE MUSIC, which was the first in the series, but I never committed to picking it up. Since this is a pretty new series, I’m leaning towards jumping in before I’m over my head with too many books to keep up with! {Release date: 02.19.2019}
4. HUNTING GAME by Helene Tursten: This is the first installment in a brand new Nordic Noir series. I’ve recently been getting further into the genre, so this book immediately caught my attention. I haven’t heard too much swirling around this book, but the synopsis makes me intrigued. {Release date: 02.26.2019}
5. CALL ME EVIE by J.P. Pomare: This book has started to make it’s rounds through #bookstagram. The cover is stunning and the synopsis is claiming it’s for fans of SHARP OBJECTS, which is a book I adore. {Release date: 03.05.2019}
6. THE WOLF AND THE WATCHMAN by Niklas Natt och Dag: Comparisons to the TV show The Alienist make me very interested in this book. I do enjoy a mixture of historical fiction with my crime fiction, but I need to see more reviews before I make up my mind about this one. {Release date: 03.05.2019}
7. UNTIL THE DAY I DIE by Emily Carpenter: I absolutely adored Carpenter’s THE WEIGHT OF LIES, but missed out on keeping on top of her new releases with EVERY SINGLE SECRET last year. I love the way Carpenter plays on family drama and this book seems to be packed to the brim! {Release date: 03.12.2019}
8. THE PERFECT GIRLFRIEND by Karen Hamilton: This book has major Fatal Attraction vibes, focusing on Juliette, who believes she is the perfect girlfriend. Nate is her ex, but she doesn’t care about that fact. In her mind they are meant to be together and she is willing to do anything to prove that to Nate. It sounds brilliant, but I’ve seen some mixed reviews, so I haven’t settled on my decision yet. {Release date: 03.26.2019}
9. STONE MOTHERS by Erin Kelly: I missed out on the hype surrounding Kelly’s HE SAID/SHE SAID. The plot to this book sounds like it has the potential to be a binge read, but I need the extra push to add it my TBR. {Release date: 04.23.2019}
10. THE MISSING YEARS by Lexie Elliott: I also missed out on the hype surrounding Elliott’s THE FRENCH GIRL. I love the atmospheric sounds of this book and from the synopsis it sounds as if the author really drives the story with this element. I’m definitely intrigued! {Release date: 04.23.2019}

I very recently tried Call Me Evie and wasn’t a huge fan of it. I hope you like it better!
This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.

Oh no!! I haven’t seen too many other early reviews on it yet, so I’m not sure I’ll end up picking up a copy.

I love this week’s theme, and I can help you out with one of those books – The Perfect Girlfriend – READ IT! It’s a fun, crazy, one-sitting read!!! I’m also on the fence about Until the Day I Die, but I do really want to read The Wolf and the Watchman. All the rest I haven’t even heard of, so 🤷🏾♀️😂

Ok, I’m officially bumping The Perfect Girlfriend into the to-read section of my TBR! I need more reviews on The Wolf and the Watchman to help me decide.
