It’s hit that point in the month when I’m confused where time has gone…how in the world is it almost the middle of February? Whew, now that that’s out of the way I can let you know how excited I am about my upcoming reads!
Tonight I’m planning to wrap up THE RECKONING by Yrsa Sigurdardottir, which didn’t make it into this picture. I’ve got less than 100 pages left and I’m really enjoying the story. If I had to choose, I would vote for THE LEGACY as my favorite in the series so far, but who knows what will happen in the last few chapters!
This morning I kicked off my reading week with my audiobook listen of AN ANONYMOUS GIRL. I was very lucky to receive an ARC of this book, but opted to set it aside for some mood reading and because it’s February’s Criminally Good Book Club selection. I actually had another book slated to for my audiobook this week, but it’s one of the picks for the current March vote for the club, so I bumped this one up. I actually started listening yesterday while cleaning my house and my first impressions are: I love the narration and the story is completely engrossing! I’m leaning towards reading parts of this one in conjunction with the audio this week, simply because it’s too long to finish in my commute for the week and I know I won’t be able to wait for answers!
After I wrap up my current read, I’m immediately picking up THE BONE KEEPER by Luca Veste. I have had this book on my radar for quite some time, as it was released in the UK a while ago. For whatever reason it never made it into my Book Depository order. The kind people over at Sourcebooks generously sent me a finished copy that I can’t wait to pick up!
In between these books I’ll be continuing onto the next section of my DUMA KEY read-along. I’m a third of the way through the book right now and am already calling a prediction that this book will land on my Stephen King favorites list! Everything about the characters and the story make me want to keep reading and loving this book.
Somewhere along the way, either during the week or over the weekend, I want to fit in my first Night Worms read as well. This month’s box included two great novellas, along with a full-length book. I’ve chosen THE CORMORANT to be my first title from the box. This book is a little over 100 pages and tells the tale of a bird that a family inherited. This bird quickly becomes more than the family bargained for!
