Welcome to another installment of Top Ten Tuesday (hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl)!
When it comes to rainy day reads I don’t necessarily have any requirements aside from an addictive, binge-worthy story. Being trapped in the house could either lead to cleaning or reading and I’m always going to choose reading! The following list are some of the most immersive stories I read recently that I think would be perfect for getting lost in!
1. Louise Penny’s Chief Inspector Gamache Series: I started reading this series back in 2017 and fell in love with the town of Three Pines. I can’t think of a better literary place I would want to visit, even if they are prone to murders! STILL LIFE is the first book in the series and I would recommend reading this series in order to avoid missing out on important plot threads.
2. THE DRY by Jane Harper: This book is easily one of the most atmospheric books I’ve ever read. The story is addictive and you’ll get swept away in Harper’s writing!
3. THE STRANGER DIARIES by Elly Griffiths: I love a good moody, Gothic read for rainy weather and this book hits that mark! In addition to being a great story, we’re also treated to three narratives telling all sides of the story, which is something I find always holds my attention.
4. THE LEGACY by Yrsa Sigurdardottir: If you’re looking to be taken away to another country, this is the kind of book you want to pick up! The story is engaging and creepy in a way that will have you unable to stop flipping pages.
5. THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO by Stieg Larsson: Falling the same category of getting swept away, this book transports the reader fully into a mystery and great characters that you won’t want to stop reading.
6. JOYLAND by Stephen King: If you would rather escape the rain with a warm weather read this book is guaranteed to transport you straight into summer with an excellent coming of age story.
7. GOOD SAMARITANS by Will Carver: If you want a murderously bingeable story, this one is perfect! There are enough twists and turns within these pages to keep you reading for hours!
8. THE DARKNESS by Ragnar Jonasson: If finding a main character you can’t stop reading about is more your cup of tea for a rainy day, this book is the perfect choice! In addition to loving Hulda, be prepared to become fully hooked on Jonasson’s writing style and the case being investigated in this book!
9. MY BEST FRIEND’S EXORCISM by Grady Hendrix: Fans of 80’s nostalgia rejoice! Grady Hendrix has just what you’re looking for within the pages of this story, plus a light dose of horror to give you the creeps!
10. THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO by Taylor Jenkins Reid: Every wondered what it would be like to be a glamorous movie star? Allow TJR to sweep you up into the life of Evelyn Hugo and leave you with all the feels!

These all look really good–the only ones I now are the Louise Penny and Dragon Tattoo. I love the outdoor setting of your photos too!

Great minds think alike! 😀 I can’t wait for more from this Yrsa series. I’m thinking of reading some of her other books while waiting for more, but I haven’t decided what to pick up.
