September was an incredible reading month for me. It was filled with finding new favorites, trying new authors, and checking out some much hyped bookstagram reads. Overall I really enjoyed what I read this month.
Do we talk about the elephant in the room, Motherthing? I don’t want to post a full review, so I’ll just give you the rundown now. This one started off so well for me and then just took a nosedive into a weirdness that I just couldn’t understand or connect with. I got to the 65% mark and stopped and debated if I should DNF. Ultimately I picked it back up because I was curious about the ending. No, just no. I’m so sad because this was one of my most anticipated reads this year and we just were not made for each other.
I think I’ve finally decided on my October hopefuls stack, but honestly I want to read about 50 books and I’m struggling to pick what to prioritize. I might show off both my final hopefuls stack and what I almost picked.
A huge thank you to Doubleday, Quirk Books, William Morrow, Wednesday Books, St. Martin’s Press, Razorbill Books, Penguin Teen, and HTP Books for my gifted copies!
