Happy October!

While my reading tends to be spooky throughout the year, there is something about October that makes me wait to read certain books until the month has arrived.

If you think this stack is ridiculously tall, you should have seen my original list of possible titles. I also may or may not have ordered another Halloween themed read this morning. I. Can’t. Stop.

There’s not a chance I’m going to make it through all of these picks, but they’re all books I want to read before the year is out, so if I don’t finish them this month they’ll be rolling over to November.

We had a fairly busy weekend, so I haven’t quite finished The Midnight Club, but I’ll be wrapping that up tonight. Since I don’t know how to read one book at a time, I have plans to start both Cell and Lute today. In my defense, Cell is a buddy read over the next two reads, so I have time to check other books off my list while I work on that one.

On my commute this morning I started Echo. This book made me nervous and repeatedly asking WTF within just the first few chapters. I have so many questions already! It’s a long audio, so I have a feeling I’m in for quite the ride.

I dropped a graphic novel, The Autumnal, in my stack that I’ve had my eye on for quite a while now. I’m hoping that this is the start of getting back to reading graphic novels. My husband and I used to go to our local comic book store all the time and I miss picking up new series reads to check out! I’ve already got Something Is Killing the Children picked out to either slide in this month or next!

What’s in your stack for October? Is it as ridiculously big as mine?

A huge thank you to Penguin, Poisoned Pen Press, Tor Nightfire, Penguin Teen, Razorbill Books, and Grand Central for my gifted copies!
