2018 Wrap Up Series: Best Instagram Book Club: Criminally Good Book Club

Since the last few days of 2018 are upon us, I thought it would be fun to feature a 2018 Wrap Up Series. Over 5 blog posts I will be highlighting books that I’ve read in 2018 across various topics: Best Instagram Book Club, Stephen King Reads, Best Debut Reads, Best Covers, and Favorites 2018 Reads.

Today I want to talk about my Favorite Instagram Book Club: Criminally Good Book Club! This club is hosted by Janel {@keeperofpages} and Ashley {@b00ksinparadise}. Every other month the ladies put together a fabulous selection of curated books for interested readers to vote on. The top two selections are then the picks for the following two months.

Why is this my favorite book club? Easy! Janel and Ashley are always coming up with fabulous picks! They do a great job of balancing new releases with books I’ve never heard of before. I also really love that they let readers vote on selections instead of telling you what they want to read for the month. I think this is a great way to get people involved.

I love the discussions I’ve had with fellow club members throughout the year. I’ve gotten to talk about my love for the majority of the books and debate on some reads that weren’t as great for me or other readers. I love that books can produce such a variety of opinions across readers and the end of month discussions we have in this club really highlight that.

What did we read this year? Above you’ll find 11 out of the 12 books featured as selections for Criminally Good Book Club and below you’ll find a breakdown of titles by month, along with links to my reviews. I wasn’t able to read-along in August, so I unfortunately do not have a review to feature for that one.

January: Killman Creek by Rachel Caine
February: Into the Black Nowhere by Meg Gardiner
March: The Perfect Nanny by Leila Slimani

April: Penance by Kanae Minato
May: Don’t Wake Up by Liz Lawler
June: Beware the Past by Joy Ellis

July: Silent Child by Sarah A. Denzil
August: Imperfection by Ray Clark
September: Lying in Wait by Liz Nugent

October: Something in the Water by Catharine Steadman
November: The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager
December: The Wife by Alafair Burke

The first selections for 2019 should be up soon, so consider stopping by and joining in the fun!

    1. You’re so welcome! Thanks for always working so hard to pick great selections! I’m really excited for both January and February selections, although I might need to pick up Hunted anyways because it sounded really good!
