Dyer Lane is a place enveloped in urban legends. It has a sinister past with layers of dark secrets full of witchcraft, cults, murder, and the supernatural. One night, a group of friends decide to go there in hopes of having a paranormal experience. Unknowingly, they begin a chain of events that will forever impact them.

I’m so proud of my friend Marie for creating this dark debut novel! Marie and I have been chatting about spooky books and our love for them for a while now, so it comes as no surprise to me that her book was able to deliver on all the gory, creepy, unsettling moments we love!

Our main character, Cora, is well-rounded and easy to connect with over her experiences on Dyer Lane. There’s a great range of emotions from Cora and the cast of secondary characters throughout the story. This book is so much more than just a straightforward horror story. It deals with grief, anxiety, doubt, and even love in a way that is relatable for readers to see those emotions and experiences reflected in their own lives. I loved the lighter moments and the nostalgia within the story that balances detailed and vivid scenes of horror. Personally, I could have gone for more gore and horror, but I think this will be a perfect mix for the majority of readers.

I can’t wait to see what comes next from Marie!
